Music! Wadding! Music!
Jun. 11th, 2009 10:47 amI'm trying to put together a good playlist for the reception (once the musicians have packed up their instruments and settled in to eat tasty foods), and it's becoming rapidly apparent that my iTunes is severely lacking in this department. Nor do I really have a good idea of what constitutes a decent dance mix. Granted, by this point in the reception I fully expect a lot of people to be off playing games, but since there will be some dancing, I'd like to have a good list put together.
Suggestions? Artists, genres, particular songs that really ought to be played? Otherwise it's likely to be a playlist called The Shame of My iTunes, Vol. I. And if you must suggest ridiculous songs -- 4'33" is right out -- could you also give a few serious ones as well?
(Left unlocked so as to cast a wider net. Internet! Inform me!)

In addition, here's a few things...
Glenn Miller, Hooked on Swing
perhaps some Dropkick Murphys?
Spaceman, The Killers or When You Were Young
Smooth Criminal
Shake It
(You realize I'm just looking through stuff you've given me that you like, right?)
The Middle or Big Casino
Rasputin
Shake Your Groove Thing
Killer Queen?
Mr. Fancy Pants
Ana Ng
Dancing With Myself
Numa Numa Song
Love Today or Grace Kelly
Here It Goes Again
Moskau
Strange Weirdos (awww, slow dance)
some Diana KRall for Dad and Mom
Electric Avenue
Blues Brothers singing Gimme Some Lovin'
Crazy (Gnarls Barkley, not Patsy Cline)
Tom Jones singing Kiss
hee.

Oh shit you're serious. Only if you and I get to dance to it.
Thanks for the rest of the suggestions! I'm slowly putting together a playlist -- I was thinking "Don't Stop Me Now" instead of "Killer Queen," though.
