Music! Wadding! Music!
Jun. 11th, 2009 10:47 amI'm trying to put together a good playlist for the reception (once the musicians have packed up their instruments and settled in to eat tasty foods), and it's becoming rapidly apparent that my iTunes is severely lacking in this department. Nor do I really have a good idea of what constitutes a decent dance mix. Granted, by this point in the reception I fully expect a lot of people to be off playing games, but since there will be some dancing, I'd like to have a good list put together.
Suggestions? Artists, genres, particular songs that really ought to be played? Otherwise it's likely to be a playlist called The Shame of My iTunes, Vol. I. And if you must suggest ridiculous songs -- 4'33" is right out -- could you also give a few serious ones as well?
(Left unlocked so as to cast a wider net. Internet! Inform me!)

Date: 2009-06-11 04:41 pm (UTC)- the cantina dance from Star Wars
- Hey Ya, by Outkast
- the mashup Bootystition (Bootylicious + Stevie Wonder + something else - it is awesome)
- Shake Your Groove Thing (Peaches and Herb?)
- It's Raining Men (but get Yao to send you his 3-minute cut, which is better than the 7-minute original)
- Beng Beng Beng, by Fela Kuti
And I second the Numa Numa song (actually called Dragostin Din Te), Dancing With Myself, Electric Avenue...
