I don't need cats to be the crazy cat lady.



This discovery came about after I realized that, while having an evening to myself, I had said aloud such things as: "Fluff with fork! Fluff with fork!" (followed by uncontrollable giggling), "MERV GRIFFIN!", and "Mock me not, foolish cheese bag!" among others, as well as singing the Discourse Song. If I had cats, I'd make marginally more sense.

Babies are probably better audiences than cats. They might not always respond, but they haven't yet learned the "look of withering scorn" that cats always seem to have for me. Then again, maybe I just don't know enough babies.
