I tend to dream about movies before I've seen them -- before they come out, usually. This sometimes results in disappointment later on (I'm convinced the 5-minute dream clip I got of Attack of the Clones was just as good if not better than the real movie) or curiosity (I'm sure there wasn't a zombies-in-the-skyscraper scene in that one movie with Benicio del Toro) or, on occasion, a full half hour of lying in bed unable to distinguish between what I know of the movie and what I've just dreamed (Why the hell would Peter Jackson put a Hebrew-speaking dragon in The Two Towers? Oh, wait...he didn't.).

This time, however, it got caught in my usual delusions of grandeur. (Well, delusions, anyway.) I dreamed that I sat down to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Davy Jones' Locker with some friends and said "I'm proud to have been a part of this. They used one of my stories as the basis for some of the plot, you know." This, of course, is not the case, but I was convinced of it in the dream.

Then I sat back, watched a bit, and wondered which idiot marketing executive insisted on the subplot with aliens and fashion designers. Because it took away from the Johnny Depp-Orlando Bloom fight scenes, dammit.

I knew your dreams would be highly imaginative!

Sometimes they are. Sometimes they're the usual rehash of "I've missed six classes and the exam has calculus and my pants keep falling off and Rutger Hauer is in my fridge."
