Aaarrrgghh...

Sitting in front of me is the scrawled-upon version of a story that needs revision and has needed revision for a long time.

Not the story my writers' group critted yesterday. The story they critted two months ago.

Only the power of hot Tang in a penguin mug can save me now.

Meanwhile, I realized late last night that the only reason my crucial plot point happens is because it's in the script. Why does she make the decision she does? For no logical reason, except that I want her to.

I feel your pain.

The patron dieties of VP VII--Mafiosi and Things and Frenchmen and Kings--are watching over us. We can do this.

You know, the gods of the year *before* we were actually there. ::facepalm::

They can watch over us too.

The Tang had a delayed effect; I only now think I have a handle on this revision. Scrawling on it at work might help.

I hate discovering that one of my characters is only following the script. It always means I have to come up with some reason for them to do it, and then that affects everything else, and grumble grumble grumble. Hope yours figures out why she's doing it soon!

And I've discovered that in every single emotionally tense scene in my draft, all the high points from December onward... someone is untying his or her shoes. Occasionally throwing them, but always untying them.
I wish you mojo!

That's kind of awesome.

Oh, God, I hate discovering that. Mine was braid-tugging -- and damn you Robert Jordan for getting there first! Yeah. Not that I'm bitter.

a penguin orgy mug?

[identity profile] stealthmuffin.livejournal.com 2006-01-24 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No, just lots of penguins. Wearing hats and scarves.

Why not hot penguins in a Tang mug?

[identity profile] stealthmuffin.livejournal.com 2006-01-24 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Because you're wrong.

Hot tang!

Sounds like the fate of "Songs of Lament," which I made an attempt to revise, hated the result, and haven't touched it since :P
