Nov. 3rd, 2005 10:00 amWhat I did on my summer vacation days off:
- Revised and sent out two stories.
- Got one story back and sent it out again.
- Finished the first draft of the stadium riots story. Got a good start on the figured bass story.
- Started "Pre-Apocalypse Sale on Cheese" longhand so I could work on it at work or on the bus. Strangely, it's turning into a New Yorker-ish story, even with that title.
- Finished the revision (actually, I finished it just before my days off, so I didn't have to worry about that at least). I'm going to let it sit for two weeks and then go over it one more time, then *gulp* start sending out queries.
- Did an awful lot of sit-ups (my abs hate me and I hate them right back) and either went for a jog or a 4-mile walk or both each day.
- Read a lot of Jane Austen, my enthusiasm waning with each novel. I still like Pride and Prejudice, but the others left me kind of cold.
- Watched my second-ever episode of House and managed to shake off the feeling that House was about to say "tinkerty tonk." Though I'd love it if he did.
- Watched Batman Begins. Aside from Katie Holmes being pretty and bland and a few Hello, Captain Exposition! scenes, I liked it. More Christian Bale=good, as far as I'm concerned.
- Made scones.
- Tried an experimental food that ended up as many of my experimental foods do: hash. Tasty hash, but it'd never win a prize for presentation.
- Bought shoes. (Curse you,
sigerson for introducing me to Zappos! Curse yoooouu!)
- Got some nicer clothes for work.
No manicure, no brie and Buffy, and no Queen of No Pants. Though the day is young yet. I also haven't put up any pictures yet, but I may do that tomorrow afternoon.
I'll be starting at ConHugeCo on Monday. For a number of reasons -- ConHugeCo's internet policy and my own lack of willpower when it comes to the net among them -- I'm going to be staying away from LJ a lot. I know, it's not as if I'm posting or replying a lot already. Just to let you know, I'm still alive, just busy.
