squeequegYesterday I took the day off as a mental health day and used it to get some work done. Revised one chapter, got part of the way into the new version of Chapter 11, scrawled all over what will be chapters 12 and 13, and actually made it outside to enjoy the sunshine. And applied to a few more jobs.
Today I'm back at work on the same paper that's really too big for the staff we have, the jackhammer outside only stopped when the rainstorm started, I'll be here till 10 at the earliest, and I'll have to come in early tomorrow. And yet it's all somehow better.
Maybe it's the feeling that I'm gaining momentum on the rewrites. Maybe it's the interview that went well on Monday and the second person from ConHugeCo calling to set up another interview for a different position. Maybe it's that both Serenity and Mirrormask come out this weekend and I can be a total geek. Maybe it's just my arbitrary decision that I will make scones sometime this weekend.
But for whatever reason, things are better. I have good friends, a wonderful guy, a loving family, and use of all my limbs. Change will happen, and I think I can face that change.
Plus, I know what I want to be for Halloween. I just need something that resembles a chainmail shirt. And a head on a stick.
