There's a meme making the rounds (I've seen it on

sanj's and

yhlee's journals) in which you post one sentence from each of the current works in progress you currently have up. I can't think of a meme better suited for my own little writing narcissism; I love giving teasers to stories.

From Spiral Hunt*: There was nothing we couldn't follow and nothing we couldn't catch -- and nothing, nothing in the world could ever catch us.

From "To Be, and To Be, and To Be": "But if you want an explanation -- and since you are apparently prepared to pester me through the next thousand iterations -- I'll give you one you might understand."

From "Racing to Miles Cross: That exchange had led to more arguments, which had led to other things, which had led to his bunk (or, more accurately, the floor beside it).

From "Keep Coming Back for More": I mean, it takes a twenty-hour ritual plus two virgins (three if you're not sure) to contact the Demon God Hortzen in our world, but in the lightless realms he's usually just hanging out looking for something to do.

From "One-Face Janus": I’ve learned enough with Central to have a good chance at that; we can hide out somewhere in the back of the galaxy, somewhere where we won’t ever hear the name Garm and Central is just an adjective.

From "This Is Not My Beautiful House": The voice was barely one step up from static, or maybe it was a multiplicity of voices, all muttering.

From "Claim": There is more than one way of laying claim to something.

Damn, I've got too many projects in the works. Time to start sending things out.

*Yes, I'm rewriting it, so this sentence may not make the cut. At the moment, I'm in the mega-research-everything-you-should-have-looked-up stage as well as the figure-out-how-to-make-your-new-plot-work stage. Which means I read a lot and talk to myself a lot. With any luck, I'll have an outline by December and should get several chapters in by the end of the year.
