Things that are awesome:
- Nine Mountain retreat center and their very laid-back approach to weddings.
- The weather this weekend.
- My family, especially my dad, who composed a sonnet for his toast, and my mom, who fed a houseful of happy people this morning.
- Seeing my eighty-something great-aunt dancing to "Rock Lobster"
- The Velveteen Rabbi, for many reasons, only some of which have to do with this last weekend.
- [livejournal.com profile] ltlbird, [livejournal.com profile] wavyarms, [livejournal.com profile] cute_fuzzy_evil, [livejournal.com profile] ethicsgradient, [livejournal.com profile] yaoobruni, [livejournal.com profile] bobsquatch, [livejournal.com profile] rissymonster, and many others whom I have undoubtedly forgotten to add (on account of no brain), for helping so much. I mean, house-elves are saying you guys make them look bad.
- [livejournal.com profile] sal_sal, for agreeing with me that the Charlie's Angels bridesmaid picture was an excellent idea.
- [livejournal.com profile] thomascantor, because yeah. Damn.

Things that are so incredibly awesome they might just implode:

- [livejournal.com profile] sigerson and [livejournal.com profile] sen_no_ongaku, the newly married couple.

I went to a wedding there! Except the family got Nine Mountain and we were down at Earthdance which was way less posh. The couple left something to be desired, and T. and I had to go back to town to pick up the stereo system because the organizers were a little too laid-back, but the event and style were excellent.

Shortly thereafter my little brother was out there doing some weekend live-action roleplaying thing.

Hooray for the Newlyweds and all who were there to support and celebrate with them.

Hee, I just posted in a very similar format about the weekend. Great minds think alike, huh?

I'm sad it's over. Do I really have to go to work in the morning?

totally awesome wedding music, the first wedding I've seen led by a rabbinical student that started with setting the corners, the unmatched foresight of the wedding wranglers to bring bugspray to an outdoor wedding, our lovely new-dads discussion, and the "here, hold the baby" conspiracy, for the encouragement of the next geeky generation.

It looked like a great place for roleplaying. Maybe they can hold a game for their anniversary...

It's starting to feel like a dream -- several days of work and fun and seeing family I hadn't seen in ages, and then back here and back to work.

Is that what was behind the baby-passing? Well, darn you and your nefarious effective schemes.

So do I! I'll bug the happy couple for it once they get everything from the photographer.

Those two do rule, don't they? Good damn. *g*

Your whole family does, to be honest. Liek whoa. :-)

*hug*

There's sort of a rule singularity developing around them. We'll have to take steps. (I'm thinking leopard capris.)

*hug* thank you so much!

Yes, they rule a lot. Congratulate them for me, would you?
