What is this "free time" of which you speak?

I'll be starting at ConHugeCo on the 7th. I'd have kept working at Paper until then, but I think I've been convinced by your advice to take a little time off in between. So I will...sort of. See, the one paper on which they are really screwed without me gets put together on Thursdays, so I'll go in one last Thursday to take care of that. The first half of the week is mine.

I'm not really sure what to do with myself or how to prepare myself for the transition, as some have suggested. So I thought I'd leave this up to the wisdom of LiveJournal. (Bear in mind that if I followed all the distilled wisdom of LiveJournal, I'd be sterile, paranoid, and hip-deep in baba ganoush.)

sterile, paranoid, and hip-deep in baba ganoush

I tried that once, but it was less fun than it sounds.

Yeah. No one ever told me that eggplant chafes.

I had my first manicure ever courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] xclamationpt. It was nice, but sadly made no difference in the long term health of my nails and cuticles. I'm not sure I'll repeat the experience. Ah well.

Always seems to take about three days to slow down enough to remember what its like to rest. Do whatever you want, downhill both ways, in slippers! (Clotted cream never hurts... stay away from the ratatouille:-)
Write silly stories, play word games, listen to stories and whip cream, take a long walk, shop for something cheerful, find a farmer's market and stare at the vegetables and whistle the stripper, celebrate.
Cause you earned it.

What she said. Don't put yourself in a position where at the end of a vacation day you feel guilty for not accomplishing something.

I speak from recent experience, here!
